French toasts

  • 1 loaf of sliced bread (slices about a finger width 2 cm thick)
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ litre of milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick  ground cinnamon
  • sugar
  • the rind of 1 lemon
  • oil
French toasts

Place the bread into a tall, wide dish and sprinkle well with the milk which has already been brought to the boil with a cinnamon stick and lemon peel. Beat the egg in a in a soup plate or wide dish.

Place the oil in the frying pan and heat. Soak the slices of bread in the beaten egg and fry in the frying pan. Once cooked, place on kitchen roll to absorb the excess oil and leave to cool. Just before eating, sprinkle with sugar and ground cinnamon.
